Virtual Console Update 63

Woah. Here’s a title I’m ashamed that I’ve forgotten about, and actually never played. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, I never touched you and I don’t know why. I don’t know if I’m missing out on anything or not! Also, along with Kirby came a shooter game called Psychosis for TurboGrafx16, which I haven’t played either!

Much more useful details inside.

Commodore 64 On VC

Today Nintendo announced that the Wii will be getting Commodore 64 titles for its Virtual Console service. Initially this will be happening in Europe and the price is a hefty 500 points per download. Perhaps, they’re selling by letter! All I know if that I demand Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders to be released with the anti-piracy stuff stripped out or a digital copy of the paper materials. I also demand that the load times and the C64’s magnetic disk drive clunking sounds be emulated as well. Meernmp errrmp…Merrermmp merrrp… … … *load flashing screen of colors* …. Merrnmmp errmp… Merrrermmp merrrt…

The Spiderwick Chronicles (Wii) Review

The Spiderwick Chronicles is being released for multiple platforms to go along with the movie of the same title. Here I will be reviewing the Wii version. Before I do that though, let me say that this is not the type of game I usually play. In fact, I try to avoid most movie-games. The reason for this is that I have never found them to be worth playing. However, Sierra suggested that we look at it anyway. In fact, they went so far as to send us a review copy to preview. How could I not take them up on it? I was assigned the Wii version and was determined to put aside my bias and review the game based on it’s own merits. The results are somewhat surprising.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (DS) Review

I suspect that this month not many of you muscle bound hardcore gamers are going to rush on out to your local GameCrazy and feverishly grab a copy of “The Spiderwick Chronicles” with your vein popping hands of controller crushing death. There’s a reason for that, and despite movie to games adaptions having a reputation of being gaming atrocities, this is surprisingly not the case with Spiderwick.

Just like Ted, I would normally never try out such a game, but since Sierra Entertainment was nice enough send us some copies we’ve decided to review them. Check the results inside.
