Check Mii Out Channel Update

There’s been an update for the Check Mii Out Channel issued. It’s nothing super fancy, but it does solve some slight inconveniences the channel had like not being able to modify a search number without retyping the whole thing or not finding Miis you’ve posted.

Full list of changes are inside.

Internets Converted to Brawl Spoiler Minefield

Super Smash Bros. Brawl goes on sale in Japan on Thursday and naturally some people have already gotten their hands on copies early, probably though some sort of soul ownership contract.

Why should you care? Well, not only is it another reason to torture those of you who have no patience, but it also means that there’s a flood of information on the game. Information that could easily be call spoilers. So if you’ve been trying to avoid this sort of information watch out… if you CAN. MUW HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

…and no, I don’t have a copy. I have to wait another month just like almost everyone else.

Virtual Console Update 59

There’s a single addition to the VC this week, but it’s considered one of the best N64 games out there. 1080° Snowboarding was an accomplishment of graphical ability on the N64 and fluid control over your character. It can be all yours for the low low price of 1000 Wii Points.

Sega Master System to the Virtual Console

Today Sega announced that Sega Master System games will be appearing on the Wii’s Virtual Console service in the near future.

There are no specific dates but Japan will start seeing them sometime in February while US and Europe will start seeing them… sometime this year.

Two games mentioned for Japan are Fist of the North Star (for 600 points) and Fantasy Zone (for 500 points).

If you don’t know what the Master System is you’re probably in the US or Japan, where it didn’t take off as much as it did in Europe. I always thought the circuit diagram on the front made it look like a tape player myself. Sega’s 8-bit system and was made as a competitor to the NES. Reminds me how big of a rivalry Nintendo and Sega had, and now they’re working together quite a bit. It’s so strange to me.

Virtual Console Update 58

I’m just going to let the press release do the talking on this one… Let’s take a quick personality test. Are you the type of person who likes to solve problems by analyzing clues, collecting information and methodically reaching your goal? Or are you more the type to thrust a double-footed kick into someone’s face and follow it with a few body blows? Your answers to those questions should help you decide which popular game to choose this week.

… and those games are Adventures oF Lolo 2 for the NES, and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers for the SNES.

Details inside. What’s up with the sudden change from 3 titles to 2 titles per week since the new year? Oh well, as long as it’s not all filler right?

Brawl Delayed To March 9th, Rumors True

It looks like those retail rumors were true for once. Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii has been pushed back one month from Feb 10, 2008 to March 9th, 2008.

There’s no reason given for the delay, just that it’s been done. I’m usually happy when this stuff happens actually, as crazy as that seems. It sometimes means that the game had a problem and instead of pushing it out the door they decided to hold it back and fix it. With that said, you may commence the call for blood in the comments section.

Reggie Takes Two More Names

I'm always watching

With Nintendo of America moving from Washington to California they’ve lost some people who understandably didn’t want to make the move and I assume Nintendo’s needing some new players.

Enter Bill van Zyll and Denise Kaigler. The latest additions to the Nin- Reggie empire. Both have worked with reputable companies in the past so I’m thinking that means that these people know what they’re doing. Good luck!
Some background information of these new players are inside… actually there’s a lot.

Virtual Console Update 57

Riot ZonePac-Attack

Let me be honest here, I can’t say I’ve played either one of these… In fact I don’t think I’ve even heard of them! Should I be ashamed?

There’s two new additions to the Virtual Console this week. Riot Zone for TurboGrafx16, and Pac-Attack for SNES.

It feels so lonely. I guess they’re saving some stuff for a rainy day.
More info on the lonely inside.

Virtual Console Update 56

Well it’s the new year and the first update to the Virtual Console has hit. The update includes two solid games, Star Tropics for the NES, and The King of Fighters 94 for the NEO GEO.

Both games were pretty unique in their time. Star Tropics is sort of an action RPG that did a lot of cool things and The King of Fighters let you swap out characters during the match.

Full details inside as it’s tradition.

The World Almost Ended Yesterday (Involves Smash Bros.)

You may not have noticed, but the world almost ended yesterday.

What’s that? You didn’t see any fireballs raining down from the sky? Well I did. And you could have as well if only you had looked at the comics page in your local newspaper.

I’m going to use the term ‘comic’ so loosely here that I may actually bastardize the word entirely. But if you happened to glance at the black hole area of the comics page and saw Bill Keane’s Family Circus ‘comic’ you would have seen the picture at the top there.

That’s right the Wii has been mentioned in Family Circus. It’s like two opposites collided and what resulted was a super black hole ready to suck all the fun out of the entire universe.

Luckily a bunch of awesome Smash Bros. Brawl commercials went live the same day and they probably saved the entire universe from total destruction.

Lots of in-game video in a commercial? What’s going on here!?
